The
high school baseball season might be over for Casa Roble and Bella
Vista, but now the best players from those two teams will combine to
form the American Legion Post 383 baseball team which begins play today
against Fort Sutter at William Land Park at 5 p.m.
Coached by Bella Vista's Don Barney and Casa
Roble's Jerry Crews, the team should once again be a contender in the
Legion's American Division.
Post 383 is a perennial visitor to the playoffs
and there's no reason to think the 1995 version of the team will be any
different.
Play continues this weekend with Fair Oaks
hosting Charles Eggen in a doubleheader at Bella Vista beginning at
10:30 a.m.
Currently lacking a home field, Charles Eggen
will return to Bella Vista on Sunday for a single game beginning at 11
a.m.
